Community Oral Health Officer Job at Bristol Park Hospital

Responsibilities:

• Prepare treatment rooms, instruments and tray setups for dental procedures.
• Conduct dental health education to patients.
• Offer counsel to patients who require reassurance.
• Implement and adhere to infection prevention protocols including autoclaving instruments after use, cleaning the dental procedure’s space and storage of the clean instruments.
• Analyze dental x-rays and evaluate dental needs as necessary including medical history review and dental charting.
• Treat and follow up patients to prevent worsening of dental diseases.
• Provide instruction on dental care and write prescriptions for patients.
• Assist the Dental surgeon in procedures and conduct procedures under supervision by the surgeon.
• Attend C.P.D accredited Continuous Medical Education and trainings both internal and external quarterly.
• Prepare and present in departmental Continuous Medical Education and Attend External online
• Continuous Medical Education for personal development
• Fill and submit daily/weekly/annual Balance score card to the immediate supervisor.
• Discuss individual performance in the balance score card monthly with the supervisor.
• Complete all preauthorization forms and insurance claim forms.
• Enter accurate patient bio data, vital signs, history and treatment given in the hospital management information system.
• Share accurate Daily and monthly health information data/ statistics extracted directly from Hospital Management Information.
• Schedule patients for root canals.
• Maintain dental files for all patients.
• Dental department Record keeping.
• Prepare individual weekly /monthly reports.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Diploma in Community Health or any related medicine course.
• Valid Dental Practicing License.
• Registered by Oral Health Association of Kenya.
• Minimum of 5 years of working experience as a COHO.
