KCSE Aggregate Grade of C+ (plus) and with a C (plain) in either English or Kiswahili.

OR

Holders of KACE Certificate with a minimum of two principal passes and one subsidiary.

OR

Holders of an accredited Diploma or Higher Diploma in Criminology & Security Management, Police and or Military Science, Forensics Science and or Psychology, and Computer Forensics with a Credit Pass that is recognized by DeKUT Senate and with a minimum of C- (minus) at KCSE.

OR

Any other qualification accepted by DeKUT Senate as equivalent to any of the above.

Have a Diploma in Industrial Chemistry or any other relevant field of chemistry with at least a credit pass from an institution recognized by the University Senate

(i)At least two principal passes in Mathematics and Physics; and

(ii)Two subsidiaries

KNEC Higher National Diploma or any other examining body recognized by the University Senate.

OR

DeKUT and KNEC Diploma holders in Building Technology, with a Credit pass.

NB: Holders of DeKUT/KNEC Diploma in Building Technology are admissible into the second year of study.
