Both Undergraduate and Postgraduate Admission Requirements

  • Admission to Eastern is competitive. The Admission Committee considers many factors when evaluating applications for admission. The students admitted for last year’s class:

    • Earned an average GPA of 3.4 (4.0 scale)
    • The middle 50 percent of admitted students who submitted SATs or ACTs scored:
      • Between 1020-1190 on the combined Reading/Writing and Math sections of the SAT
      • Between 19-24 composite on the ACT
    • Demonstrated academic success in a rigorous schedule of college preparatory, honors, and/or Advanced Placement courses in high school

Standard Requirements

  1. A completed application for admission – APPLY ONLINE
  2. A bachelor’s degree from an approved/accredited institution.
    • M.S. in Accounting: minimum GPA of 2.70
    • M.S. in Organizational Management: minimum GPA of 2.70
    • M.S. in Education (Various): minimum GPA of 3.0; 2.7 GPA for Educational Technology
  3. $50 non-refundable application fee*
  4. Official college transcript(s) for all non-Eastern colleges/universities attended.
  5. The contact information for references**:
    • M.S. in Accounting: Two recommendation surveys completed by individuals knowledgeable about the applicant’s abilities to complete graduate work.
    • M.S. in Organizational Management: Two recommendation surveys completed by individuals knowledgeable about the applicant’s abilities to complete graduate work.
    • M.S. in Education (various): Two recommendation survey for non-certification students or three for CARE certification candidates. CARE recommendations should be from an academic professor or a professional K-12 educator.

*Application Fee Waivers may be available upon request. Potential qualifying factors for a fee waiver include participation in special undergraduate programs, Financial Aid need, or household income. Fee waivers are distributed on a limited basis and are not guaranteed.  Please email [email protected] to inquire about a fee waiver.

  • A copy of a valid State Teacher’s Certificate or Evidence of Significant Teaching Experience.

M.S. in Education Technology: A resume/curriculum vitae.

M.S. in Education with Teacher Certification:

  • Praxis core, SAT, ACT or GRE scores
  • Praxis II score (for Secondary Education)

M.S. in Organizational Management:

  • A Resume/curriculum vitae.
  • A statement of professional goals. Statements can be uploaded as supplemental items in the online application.

M.S. in Special Education:

  • A copy of a valid State Teacher’s Certificate or Evidence of Significant Teaching Experience.

International Students

Applying for Graduate Admission

The Graduate Council encourages interested students to complete the admission process. The following reflects the minimum requirements necessary for admission to the Graduate Division:

  • Applicants applying for admission to a graduate program leading to a master’s of science degree must have earned at bachelor’s degree from an approved/accredited institution.
  • Applicants must demonstrate appropriate academic background for the program in which graduate study will be done. The minimum undergraduate cumulative grade point average necessary for admission into a master’s degree program is 3.0 based on a 4.0 scale.
  • Specific graduate programs may have higher admission standards or stipulate that additional requirements be met. Applicants are encouraged to contact the Dean of the Graduate Division for detailed information.
