Description:

Plan International was founded over 75 years ago with a mission to promote and protect the rights of children. The organization was set up by British journalist John Langdon-Davies and refugee worker Eric Muggeridge in 1937, with the original aim to provide food, accommodation and education to children whose lives had been disrupted by the Spanish Civil War.

Responsibilities:

  • Will ensure it delivers on its mandate to engage and connect people and partners – inside and outside Plan International – to be an engine for driving youth voice and engagement in all areas.
  • Provides overall feminist leadership for this team and mandate at the global level, to ensure Plan International achieves its ambitions and maximizes impact with this approach to social change.

Qualifications:

  • With strong knowledge of girl- and youth-led gender transformative programming and influencing, including in humanitarian contexts. You will have a proven track record of leading influential campaigns and developing high-quality youth programming.
  • You will need to have a deep commitment to feminist leadership principles and proven experience of putting these into practice, including enabling collective self-care and well-being for a high-performing and multi-cultural team.
  • You will have robust change management skills and the ability to ensure strong strategic and operational agility.
  • You will have experience connecting global and local efforts to ensure sustainable change, and of resource mobilization.
  • With an ability to build strong partnerships and relationships, while motivating others and working together to achieve challenging goals in a complex environment.
