The Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) is a statutory body established in July 1995 by an Act of Parliament ‘Higher Education Loans Board Act’ Cap 213A. It is a state corporation in the Ministry of Education. The Board is domiciled and operates within the republic of Kenya.

HELB Loanees Portal is where you log on and settle your loans. With this portal, you can monitor the progress of your loan and how consistently you are paying your loan. It is a secure platform to access. You will be able to perform other activities on the portal such as applying for another loan and finding better ways to pay it back.
How does it work?
You can download our inquiry form or access the loanees portal for your balance statement, compliance, and clearance. Download Part 1 or Download Part 2
How to Sign Up or Create An Account
To sign up on the portal, kindly follow the steps below:
- Visit: www.studentportal.helb.co.ke
- Navigate and click on “Register”
- Enter your ID Number and the name attached to the ID
- Follow the instructions on the page to register yourself.
