To be eligible for the Columbia University Scholarship for Displaced Persons:

  • Applicants must be foreign nationals with refugee status living anywhere in the world, who have received US asylum or submitted a US asylum application, are in the US under Temporary Protected Status, or are internally displaced persons.
  • Applicants must be students who are unable to complete their higher education occasioned by their displacement.
  • Applicants must demonstrate strong academic and leadership abilities
  • Applicants must be in possession of academic credentials required for admission into Columbia University or its affiliates.

Application Procedure:

Interested applicants for the Columbia University Scholarship for Displaced Persons 2021/22 are to apply to and be accepted by one of the degree programs eligible for the scholarship. Students will only be evaluated for the scholarship if they are admitted to the degree program for which they have applied.
