Ardhi University is the only University in Tanzania and Africa that offers integrated training in the entire spectrum of land-based disciplines namely Real Estate, Land Administration, Land Surveying Urban, and Regional Planning, Architecture, Building Economics, Environmental Science, and Housing under one roof complemented by Engineering, Finance, Accounting, Economics, and Community Development Programmes. - Project Manager
Responsibilities:
- Coordination of daily activities of the Project Support Unit (PSU) team including:
- financial officer, accountant, clerks, drivers
- administrative support;
- To guarantee adequate managerial, administrative and financial follow-up of the IUC partnership at the level of the local institution, in support of the local IUC coordinator.
- To provide general technical, methodological and management support to the domain leaders.
- To provide administrative support for the local and Joint steering committee meetings and undertake follow-up and implementation of its decisions.
- To coordinate and facilitate the compilation of proposal, planning and reporting documents at the local level.
- To be a secretary of the Local Project Management Committee.
- To prepare and facilitate international mobility for scholars and other participants involved.
- To perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Local IUC Coordinator from time to time.
Qualifications;
- At least a relevant Master’s Degree from a recognized institution.
- At least three years’ work experience in donor-funded projects.
- The candidate is expected to be a person with demonstrated experience of working with donor-funded projects or international organizations/ Non-Governmental Organizations/ research institutions and has a track record of good performance.
- Knowledge and experience with financial management (managing a complex budget, effective follow-up on internal and external audit requirements, and ensuring proper compliance and reporting).
- Demonstrated management skills in a dynamic local-international setting.
- Adequate leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent written and oral English skills are a necessary requirement.
- GIS Specialist x40
Responsibilities:
- GIS is fully mainstreamed in all local government functional departments.
- Conduct awareness-raising and sensitization to Council’s Management Team regarding the use and benefit of GIS in LGA activities/functions.
- Collect and process primary and secondary data from the LGAs.
- Digitize data from remotely sensed imagery and upload spatial data to a web-based system (Joint Mapping Platform).
- Train Local Government Staff on the use of GIS software. particularly QGIS in making maps and extract other information to be used in the day-to-day functions of the LGAs.
- Develop capacity to make high-quality map products using desktop GIS, particularly QGIS for use in reports, for off-line use, and print hard copy maps.
- Advice to management, clients, and colleagues on issues related to the use of GIS in LGA functions especially revenue collection-related activities.
Qualifications;
- A recognized university degree in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Geoinformatics, Geoinformation Management, Remote Sensing (RS), Urban and Regional Planning, Computer Science, Environmental Science, Engineering, or any other related discipline with sound knowledge and experience in GIS. OR A recognized Diploma or Higher in Geoinformatics with required GIS Knowledge and skills, qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
- A minimum of at least 3 years of relevant experience in the field of Geographic Information Systems, preferably in training, awareness-raising, and advocacy.
- Proficiency in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Office 2003 and/or newer versions) and experience in handling web-based management systems.
- Advanced knowledge and use of at least one open-source GIS desktop package especially QGIS is desirable.
- Ability to communicate effectively in written and spoken Kiswahili and English.
- Experience in working with local government authorities is an added advantage Only Tanzanian nationals are eligible.
