Geita Gold Mining Ltd (GGML) is Tanzania’s leading gold producer with a single operation in Geita Region. The company is a subsidiary of AngloGold Ashanti, an international gold producer headquartered in South Africa, with operations in more than ten countries, in four continents.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Providing secure environment for the conduct of the mine’s activities and security of its assets by enforcing Security policies and procedures and by constant monitoring thereof to ensure compliance.
- Ensure that team members are posted out to specific posts as required with required PPE and Security tools (e.g. whistles/radio/shotgun, riot gear and take five books).
- Ensure that PTO’s, specifically in terms of team members, is conducted on a weekly basis.
- Ensure that team members are constantly monitored in terms of their capabilities and on the job training and coaching done where required to rectify substandard performance/behaviour.
- Identifying security risks within your area of accountability and report to the Senior Crime
- Prevention Supervisor such risks for him to develop strategies to counter/mitigate the risks.
- Maintaining the highest standards of discipline, working behaviour, integrity and confidentiality expected from the AGA security function within your area of accountability.
- Allocate manpower per shift as per requirement to achieve maximum security.
- Conduct audits where applicable and complete shift reports as determined by the operations superintendent or specific instructions.
- Conduct all administrative duties E.g. Report writing, Filling Police attendance, potential losses, communication of company policies and procedures.
- Monitor and control crime rate on the mine while on duty.
- Monitor and maintain all Security equipment/tools as per the standard requirements. Eg radio, firearms etc.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ordinary level Certificate of Secondary Education (CSEE) or above with vast experience in security field.

- 3 years’ experience in RRU Function.
- 2 years’ experience in a leadership role.

- No criminal record
- Be physically fit and be able to pass pre-employment and medical examinations / screening
- Good analytical skills and record keeping
- Create an environment that promotes motivation, trust, commitment, and honesty
- Be able to develop staff, motivate and promote teamwork
- 2 years’ experience in leadership role as a team leading
- Leadership skills
- Basic security trainings
- Firearm handling
- RRU training (Response technic)
- Preliminary Investigations skills
- Defensive Driving skills
