Global Resource Alliance – Tanzania (GRA-Tz) is an international non-profit association headquartered in Musoma, Tanzania. It is affiliated with the US non-profit, Global Resource Alliance (GRA). GRA-Tz promotes natural, holistic and sustainable solutions to the challenges of poverty, malnutrition, disease and environmental degradation in the Mara Region of Tanzania. Our activities are growing and the organization is looking for an monitoring & evaluation (M&E) coordinator to strengthen its Tanzanian team, and coordinate data collection and processing for an upcoming, multi-year forest landscape restoration project in Butiama District.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct a thorough revision of the M&E framework and logframe
- Implement improvements to all tools and processes within the M&E program
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative biophysical and socio-economic surveys with beneficiaries and potential beneficiary communities
- Collect and analyze data using digital data collection tools and statistical applications
- Provide regular detailed progress reports to the GRA-TZ director, GRA-USA and WeForest
- Prepare the M&E budget
- Produce quality deliverables on time to ensure they meet milestones per their scope, timeline, and budget
- Assist as needed in developing grant applications
- Assist project manager in other tasks as needed
Qualification:
A Master degree, or equivalent experience, in Natural Resources Management, Forestry, Ecology, Bio-engineering, Quantitative/Qualitative Research Methods, Statistics, Remote sensing or other relevant field
Experience
A minimum of 3 years’ M&E experience working in relevant sector with smallholder farmers in Tanzania
Experience in developing logical frameworks (logframes), work plans, clear indicators, milestones and targets
Experience with biophysical data collection (e.g. forest structure & vegetation assessments) and socio-economic data collection (e.g. household surveys)
Experience with digital data collections tools (e.g. KoboCollect, GIS Cloud)
Computer literate and proficient in use of Windows Office (especially Excel & Word) Experience in handling and manipulating spatial data & GIS software (e.g. QGIS, ArcGIS)
Demonstrable skills in coordinating, training, reporting and communicating
Experience with (statistical) data analysis methods and software (e.g. SPSS, R) is a plus
