The Ocean Road Cancer Institute (ORCI) was established by the Act of Parliament No.3 of 1996. The Institute is a semi-autonomous organization that operates under the Ministry of Health, Community Development, Gender, Elderly, and Children. The Institute has various roles which stem from the main role of controlling cancer in Tanzania.
- Radiographer II x2
Responsibilities:

- To perform patient’s radiological examination including x-rays, Ultrasound Scan, CT Scan, and Mammography.
- To keep and maintain patients waiting for seniors to interpret and give radiological results.
- To provide technical advice on radiation in the Unit.
- To prepare contrast media and chemicals for radiological examination.
- To process radiological images
- To keep and maintain patient records.
- To inform medical physics and engineers on machine faults.
- To perform any other duties as shall be assigned by superiors.
Qualifications;
- Holder of diploma in Radiographer or any equivalent qualifications from any recognized Institution.
- Must be enrolled in the register of Medical Radiology and Imaging Professionals as Radiographer.
- All applicants must be Citizens of Tanzania and not above 45 years old.
- An applicant must send their handwritten application letters attached with current Curriculum Vitae (CV) with three referees, certified copies of academic certificates, a Birth certificate, and two recent passport sizes pictures.
- Testimonials, Partial transcripts, and results slip will not be accepted.
- An applicant who has foreign certificates should certify the same to the relevant authority before submitting their applications.
- Presentation of forged certificates and other information in the CV shall call for legal action.
- An applicant who has/was retired from the Public Service for whatever reason should not apply.

- Radiotherapy scientist II
Responsibilities:
- To adhere to radiation safety protocol.
- To safely and effectively operate a variety of computerized simulation and treatment machines.
- To perform treatment planning.
- To perform treatment time calculation.
- To participate in the creation of treatment and verification of data.
- To deliver dose to patients.
- To observe the clinical progress of the patient.
- To perform machine checks.
- To inform medical physics on machines fault.
- To do quality assurance activities.
- To maintain radiotherapy equipments.
- To construct immobilization devices and employee-customer blocking techniques that conductive to conformal radiation therapy.
- To utilize sophisticated imaging equipment and treatment planning systems for precise tumor localization.
- To perform any other duties as assigned by superiors.
Qualification;
- Holder of a bachelor’s degree in Radiotherapy or any equivalent qualification from a recognized Institute.
- Must be registered with the respective board.
- All applicants must be Citizens of Tanzania and not above 45 years old.

Responsibilities:

- To conduct general cleaning of the offices, kitchen, and premises, wards other patient treatment areas.
- To collect and dispose of medical wastes.
- To cleaning equipments and accessories used in patient diagnosis and treatment.
- To label dead boards for easy identification by relatives and hospital administration.
- To deliver dead bodies to relatives for burial. To perform any other duties as shall be assigned by superiors.
Qualification;
- Holder of a form IVA/I with a one-year certificate course in Hospital cleaning/infection protection, hygiene, health safety issues, Waste management, or any equivalent qualification from any recognized Institution.
