Tanzania Mines, Energy, Construction and Allied Workers’ Union (TAMICO) registered through Employment and Labour Relation Act No. 6 of 2004 is an Independent Workers’ judicial organ to represent and serve members who are working in Mining, Energy, and Construction sectors.

Responsibilities:

  • To prepare organizing material for promoting workers awareness in Union matters,
  • In collaboration with the Zonal and District Secretaries to plan for the organizing and recruitment work in the Union.
  • To Provide back-up services in acquiring, handling and disseminating relevant, adequate and update information and data from all constituents, centres and facilities.
  • To ensure members information are available to the head office periodically
  • To plan coordinate and control Union projects and programme activities
  • To liaise with partners both internal and external to ensure that programme benefits and impact are achieved at maximum level
  • To represent the Union in its various programme missions to the constituent
  • To ensure accurate programmes and projects reports are available to the stakeholders timely.
  • To timely respond to members requests for information and programme action
  • To Conduct members, satisfaction surveys periodically, determine and address deficiencies
  • To Coordinate organizing work of TAMICO from branch to national levels
  • To Prepare, analyze and compile periodic Union reports from Districts and the Zonal Secretaries.

Requirements:

  • Holder of Degree in Economic Planning, Project Planning.
  • International Relation, Law and Equivalent Qualification with at least two years working experience in Programme/Project Management and or Organizing Computer Literacy is a must.

Other Competencies;

  • Good communication in spoken and written Kiswahili and English
  • Competency in Project/Programme writing and appraisal
  • Good Judgment, analytical and conceptual skills Good Interpersonal and demonstrate ability to work independently
  • Working experience in Trade Union is an added advantage.
