SEKOMU Admission Requirements
SEKOMU Admission Requirements for undergraduate and postgraduate admissions has been released.
Sebastian Kolowa Memorial University (SEKOMU) has released the admission requirements for undergraduate and Postgraduate programmes. Prospective students should endeavor to check the entry requirements before applying for admission. Interested candidates can access the Sebastian Kolowa Memorial University programmes before proceeding to apply.
Sebastian Kolowa Memorial University Admission Requirements
Admission requirements vary slightly according to the program the applicant is seeking admission for and/or individual circumstances. The school or department in which the applicant wishes to register may prescribe certain additional course requirements if the student is deemed to be deficient.
Below are the admission requirements based on programmes:
General Entry Requirements:
Category A: Direct Entry Scheme
To be eligible for consideration for admission through direct entry, a candidate must:
I)Have obtained a Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (C.S.E.E.) or the East African Certificate of Education or equivalent with at least three credit passes in appropriate subjects.
AND
II)Have an Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (A.C.S.E.E.) or equivalent with at least two principal level passes in appropriate subjects with a total of 2.0 or more points and three credits at ‘O’ Level.
III)For Applicants with RPL qualifications, the minimum qualification is ‘B’ grade
AND
IV) Fulfil the following Faculty requirements:

(a)Faculty of Education
1.3.1Bachelor of Education Special Needs (Science Subjects):
The candidate must have at least two Principal Level passes in the following appropriate subjects in the A.C.S.E.E. or equivalent: Chemistry, Physics, Biology/Botany/Zoology, Mathematics, Geography or Agriculture, one of which must be the chosen Science Teaching Subject.
The sum of the points from the two principal level passes should not be less than 2.0 points.
1.3.2 Bachelor of Education Special Needs (Arts Subjects):
The candidate must have at least two Principal Level passes in any arts subjects in the A.C.S.E.E.
(b)Faculty of Science
1.3.3Bachelor of Science in Eco-tourism and Nature Conservation:
To be eligible for consideration for admission, the candidate must have at least two Principal Level passes in the following appropriate subjects in the A.C.S.E.E. or equivalent: Chemistry, Physics, Biology/Botany/Zoology, Mathematics, Geography, and Agriculture.
The sum of the points from the two principal level passes should not be less than 2.0 points.
1.3.4 Bachelor of Science in Mental Health and Rehabilitation:
The candidate must be a holder of either Diploma in Clinical Medicine (Clinical Officer) or Advanced Diploma in Clinical Medicine (Assistant Medical Officer) and have a working experience of two years or more.

A one year foundation course is mandatory for all direct entry candidates before starting the 4 years programme
(c) Faculty of Law
1.3.5 Bachelor of Laws
For applicants to the Bachelor of Laws degree, the candidate must have obtained a credit in English at C.S.E.E. or a Principal Pass in English at A.C.S.E.E.
Category B: Equivalent Qualifications
Possession of Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (C.S.E.E) or East African Secondary Education (Ordinary Level) or Equivalent with at least FOUR Passes (D’s) in appropriate subjects
AND
I) Fulfilling the following faculty wise requirements:
(a) Faculty of Education
Diploma from a recognised/accredited institution with a G.P.A of
2.0or above or an average of C or above in one of the following:
i.Education
ii.Special Needs Education
iii.Psychology
iv.Theology & other Diploma
(b) Faculty of Law
The applicant must have at least a pass in English at C.S.E.E. or a subsidiary grade at A.C.S.E.E.

AND
Diploma in Law from a recognised/accredited institution with a G.P.A of 2.0 or above OR an average of C or above.
(c) Faculty of Science
Diploma in a relevant field of Physical, Chemical or Biological Sciences such as Forestry or Beekeeping or Wildlife Management or Agriculture from a recognized/accredited institution with a G.P.A of 2.0 or above OR an average of C or above.
AND
(II)At least FOUR Passes (D’s) at C.S.E.E. in any of the following subjects: Mathematics, Chemistry, Geography, Physics, Agriculture and Biology/Botany/Zoology.
