SJUIT Admission Requirements

Admission requirements vary slightly according to the program the applicant is seeking admission for and/or individual circumstances. The school or department in which the applicant wishes to register may prescribe certain additional course requirements if the student is deemed to be deficient.

Below are the admission requirements based on programmes:

1) Doctor Of Medicine

Course Duration : 5 years

Entry Requirements:

1. Three principal passes in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology with minimum entry of 8 points. Whereby one must have at least C grade in Chemistry and Biology and at least D grade in Physics.
2. Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) with at least five (5) passes including two credit passes in chemistry and biology and a D grade in physics PLUS Diploma in clinical medicine with an average of “B+” or GPA of 3.5.
3. OR Bsc (lower second) majoring in physics/mathematics, chemistry, biology/zoology.

1) Diploma in Civil Engineering

Entry Requirements:

1. Holders of Certificate of Secondary Education Examinations (CSEE) with at least Four (4) passes in non-religious subjects including Basic Mathematics , Chemistry and Physics/Engineering Science;ORHolders of General Certificate in Engineering;

   OR

   National Vocational Award (NVA) Level III or Trade Test Certificate of Grade I in Relevant Field with Pass in Basic Mathematics in Certificate of Secondary Education Examination(CSEE)

Course duration: 3 years

2) Diploma in Mechanical Engineering 

Entry Requirements:

1. Holders of Certificate of Secondary Education Examinations (CSEE) with at least Four (4) passes in non-religious subjects including Basic Mathematics , Chemistry and Physics/Engineering Science;ORHolders of General Certificate in Engineering;

   OR

   National Vocational Award (NVA) Level III or Trade Test Certificate of Grade I in Relevant Field with Pass in Basic Mathematics in Certificate of Secondary Education Examination(CSEE)

Course duration: 3 years

3) Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering 

Entry Requirements:

1. Holders of Certificate of Secondary Education Examinations (CSEE) with at least Four (4) passes in non-religious subjects including Basic Mathematics , Chemistry and Physics/Engineering Science;ORHolders of General Certificate in Engineering;

   OR

   National Vocational Award (NVA) Level III or Trade Test Certificate of Grade I in Relevant Field with Pass in Basic Mathematics in Certificate of Secondary Education Examination(CSEE)

Course duration: 3 years

4) Diploma in Electronics and Communication Engineering 

Entry Requirements:

1. Holders of Certificate of Secondary Education Examinations (CSEE) with at least Four (4) passes in non-religious subjects including Basic Mathematics , Chemistry and Physics/Engineering Science;ORHolders of General Certificate in Engineering;

   OR

   National Vocational Award (NVA) Level III or Trade Test Certificate of Grade I in Relevant Field with Pass in Basic Mathematics in Certificate of Secondary Education Examination(CSEE)

Course duration: 3 years

5) Diploma in Computer Science and Engineering 

Entry Requirements:

1. Holders of Certificate of Secondary Education Examinations (CSEE) with at least Four (4) passes in non-religious subjects including Basic Mathematics , Chemistry and Physics/Engineering Science;ORHolders of General Certificate in Engineering;

   OR

   National Vocational Award (NVA) Level III or Trade Test Certificate of Grade I in Relevant Field with Pass in Basic Mathematics in Certificate of Secondary Education Examination(CSEE)

Course duration: 3 years

6) Diploma in Information Technology

Entry Requirements:

1. Holders of Certificate of Secondary Education Examinations (CSEE) with at least Four (4) passes “D” in non-religious subjects including Basic Mathematics and Physics/Engineering Science.

Course duration: 3 years

ST. JOSEPH COLLEGE OF HEALTH SCIENCES, BOKO CAMPUS

1) Diploma in Pharmaceutical Sciences 

Entry Requirements:

Applicants must have any of the following:

1. The candidate must have D pass in four subjects including D pass in Chemistry and Biology and any other two D pass except religious subjects and must have completed NTA level 5 in Pharmaceutical Sciences in an institution recognized by NACTE.

Course duration: 3 years

2) Diploma in Nursing

Entry Requirements:

Applicants must have any of the following:

1. The candidate must have D pass in four subjects including D pass in Chemistry,Biology and Physics/Engineering Sciences and any other D pass except religious subjects and must have completed NTA level 5 in Nursing and Midwife program from an Institution recognized by NACTE
