- Land for Life Project Coordination Officer
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for planning and coordinating all project activities, working with TPW staff, WWF, and a number of external experts and partners. This will include a multi-stakeholder engagement process, the collection and review of essential baseline data, the co-creation of appropriate implementation approaches, and the establishment of the related monitoring system.
- Coordinate and aid in the co-implementation of programmatic activities such as Human-Wildlife-Conflict (HWC) mitigation, participatory land-use planning, sustainable rangeland management, eco-friendly business development, community-based natural resource management, and wildlife and habitat conservation.
- Ensure the strong participation and inclusion of women and youth, as well as people with disabilities in all project activities.
- Identify and develop excellent working relationships with important stakeholders such as community leaders and community-based organizations, women’s group representatives, local user groups, Government authorities, research institutions, and other projects in the region.
- Represent TPW at meetings/workshops with relevant authorities and ensure effective coordination, collaboration, and knowledge sharing with Government and other stakeholders.
- Manage day-to-day operations of the project, which include effective administration and tracking of project finances, project monitoring and evaluation, timely reporting to TPW and WWF, and effective coordination and cooperation between project partners.
- Work with TPW and WWF staff to develop/adjust work plans and budgets.
- Cooperate with Senior Management Team staff at TPW on relevant topics to ensure alignment with TPW processes and approaches.
- Submit regular progress and technical reports to the Chief Program Officer and ensure all team members are kept up to date with relevant project information.
- Undertake other duties as appropriate and as may be directed by the Chief Program Officer.
- Act as a public emissary of TPW’s programs and the organization’s goals and mission.
Qualifications;
- The successful candidate should have a Master’s or equivalent degree in community development, business, or enterprise development.
- We are looking for an individual with the ability to independently manage and coordinate all project activities.
- This requires exceptional leadership and communication skills and an ability to produce well-written reports in English without assistance.
- Master’s degree or equivalent work experience in one of the above fields
- At least 3 years professional experience in relevant sectors, in particular with regard to community-based natural resource management preferably in pastoral communities.
- At least 2 years of experience working on complex programs with multiple and diverse implementation partners and stakeholders with cross-cutting themes and multiple objectives.
