The University of Arusha (UoA) has released the admission requirements for undergraduate and Postgraduate programmes. Prospective students should endeavor to check the entry requirements before applying for admission. Interested candidates can access the University of Arusha programmes before proceeding to apply.

Admission requirements vary slightly according to the program the applicant is seeking admission for and/or individual circumstances. The school or department in which the applicant wishes to register may prescribe certain additional course requirements if the student is deemed to be deficient.

Below are the admission requirements based on programmes:

    • Graduate Programs General Admission Criteria:
      (1) To be admitted into the MBA degree program at UoA, an applicant must be a holder of any bachelor’s degree from a recognized college or university or its equivalent. One must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.7. However, a candidate who has a cumulative GPA of less than 2.7 but has a PGD in the relevant area with a GPA of 2.7 may be accepted. For international students, admission criteria will be based on the entry qualifications for the country of origin.(2)To be admitted into the MA degree program an applicant must be a holder of bachelor’s degree in education from a recognized College or University or its equivalent. One must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.7. However, if one is a holder of a bachelor’s degree which is not in Education, then he/she is required to complete a Post Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) before being admitted into the MA programme. A candidate whose minimum cumulative GPA is less than 2.7 but has a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.7 in the PGDE may be accepted. For international students, admission criteria will be based on the entry qualifications for the country of origin
      Note: For masters program we have January, May and August intake. The deadlines are as follows:
      For May intake – April 30,
      For August intake – July 30,
      For January intake – November 30,
    • Post-Graduate Diploma in Education
      One should be a holder of a first degree from any accredited institution.
      Deadline: August 30,
      • Undergraduate Programs
        (1) For Direct entry- three credit passes at Ordinary level and two principal passes at Advanced level.
        (2) For Equivalent entry – At least Four passes at Ordinary level and must have obtained an average of B in a certificate and Diploma with at least B average from a recognized institution.Centers for Undergraduate Programs

        • Musoma Educational Center
        Note: Certain programs require specific entrance qualifications. For example, to pursue a degree in Accounting, you should have at least a pass in Mathematics at O’ Level.
      • Diploma
        (1) At least one principal pass and one subsidiary at advanced level (form VI) with a total 1.5 points where by A= 5, B= 4, C= 3, D= 2, E= 1, S= 0.5, F= 0
        (2) At least Four passes (D) at ordinary level and have obtained an average of B in a certificate from a recognized institution.

    • Certificate
      At least Four passes at Ordinary level.
      Deadline: August 30,

The application fee is a non-refundable Tshs.30, 000/= for graduate programs and for Tshs.25, 000/= for undergraduate applications. Pay your application fee in the bank, and then attach the original bank slip to your application.
