The Mulungushi University Admission Requirements 2023/2024…… The Undergraduate, Masters & Doctorate Programmes Entry Requirements has been released for the 2023/2024 academic session.

For admission into Undergraduates, Postgraduates, Diploma, and Masters programs at the Mulungushi University for any first degree or second degree, an applicant must have the following requirements for successful admission.

These admission requirements are for various programs offered at the institution, it serves as a guide in the application process. All interested applicants are to read through carefully making sure that they fulfill the requirements before putting in an application.

Entry Requirements for Undergraduate Degree Courses

Business Based Programmes (Business Studies and Economics)

• Programmes that are business based and require a credit (6) or better in English Language and Mathematics and a credit (6) or better in any other three in the Zambian School Certificate or General School Certificate of Education or  Cambridge International Examinations.

Natural Science-Based Programmes (Physical Sciences, Engineering, Technology and Agriculture)

• All programmes are science-based and require a credit (6) or better in English Language, Mathematics, Biology or Agriculture Science, Science or(Physics – 5054 or Chemistry- 5070 for applicants who took pure sciences) in addition to a credit or better in two (2) other subjects in the Zambian School Certificate or General School Certificate of Education or  Cambridge International Examinations.

Social Sciences and Arts-Based Programmes 

• All programmes which are under Social Sciences or Arts-based requires a credit (6) or better in English Language and a credit (6) or better in any other four (04) subjects in the Zambian School Certificate or General School Certificate of Education or Cambridge International Examinations.

Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB)

Ordinary (O) Level Entry Pre-Medicine

• Applicants with  Five (5)  “O” Level credits or better in subjects from Zambian School Certificate or its equivalent in the following: a) English Language b) Mathematics c)  Biology d)  Science or Pure Sciences (Physics or Chemistry)  e)   And any other subject will have to do Foundation Sciences(Advanced (‘A’) Levels) in Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics at Mulungushi University Great North Road Campus in Kabwe for One (1) Year before moving to Mulungushi University School of Medicine and Health Sciences based at Livingstone Teaching Hospital Campus.

Advanced (‘A’) Levels/Graduate-Direct Entry

• School Leavers with ‘A’ levels in Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics from a recognised Institution with an average grade B will be admitted to second year(being the first year in Medical School at Livingstone Teaching Hospital Campus).
• Applicants with first degrees in Health-related, Biological/Life Sciences or Physical Sciences  shall be admitted to second year directly into MBChB provided their certificates are from an institution recognised by the Higher Education Authority (HEA)and must be in possession of five O level credits or better in subjects as prescribed in (i) above.

Entry Requirements for Diploma Programmes

• Five (5) credits, which must include English language (Grade 6) OR Better with a Diploma of a minimum of 18 months duration in the relevant field from a recognised institution will be exempted from first-year courses and hence start at Second (2nd ) Year.
• Three (3) credits, which must include English language (Grade 6) or better and a Diploma of a minimum of 18 months duration in the relevant field from a recognised institution will start at First (1st) Year.

MULUNGUSHI UNIVERSITY, MU POSTGRADUATE ADMISSION REQUIREMENT

Entry requirements for a Postgraduate Diploma degree Programme

• Five (5)  “O” Level credits (6) or better in subjects from Zambian School Certificate or its equivalent;
• A first degree from a recognised institution.

Entry requirements for a Masters Degree Programme

• Five (5) “O” Level credits (6) or better in subjects from Zambian School Certificate or its equivalent;
• A first degree at least graded credit from a recognised institution
• Special entrance requirements prescribed by the relevant School as being necessary.

Entry requirements for a DBA or PhD degree programme

Applicants must be holders of Master’s degree or any other related programs from a recognized University. Practitioner Experience: Applicants must have management experience of at least three years pre – or – post Masters.
