The South African National Biodiversity Institute (SANBI) in partnership with City of Johannesburg’s Environment & Infrastructure Services Department is pleased to announce a call for applications for incubation in the following fields.

Duration: 2 years Contract

Stipend / Salary: R6 082 – R10 035

Location: Traduna Building, 118 Jorissen Street, Gauteng, Johannesburg

Stipend will vary according to your level of qualification:

  • Diploma: R6 082
  • BSc:  R7 359
  • Honours:  R8 697
  • MSc : R10 035

Diploma or Degree or Honours (NQF 6 – 8) in:

  • Environmental Health
  • Environmental Management
  • Environmental Science.

Environmental Impact Management and Compliance Interns

Diploma or Degree or Honours or Masters (NQF 6 – 9) in:

  • or any other related Natural Science qualification.

Air quality and Climate Change Interns

Diploma or Degree or Honours (NQF 6 – 8) in:

  • Engineering
  • Mathematics

  • Nature Conservation,
  • or any other related Natural Science qualification.

Water Management and Biodiversity Interns

Diploma or Degree or Honours or Masters (NQF 6 – 9) in:

  • Environmental Management
  • Environmental Science,
  • Nature Conservation,
  • or any other related Natural Science qualification.

Environmental Education & Awareness Interns

Diploma or Degree or Honours (NQF 6 – 8) in:

  • Environmental Management
  • Environmental Science/Education,
  • Nature Conservation,
  • or any other related Natural Science qualification.

Applicant Requirements:

  • Must be a SA citizen.
  • Young unemployed and unemployed professionals between the ages of 18 and 35.
  • Innovative, dynamic and creative
  • A commitment to career development in the environmental/biodiversity sector.
  • Must hold qualifications mentioned in table above
