St Alban’s College, one of South Africa’s leading independent boys’ high schools, seeks to employ an Intern in the Visual Art Department. The position is an opportunity for an Intern who is, talented, and creative and who will foster enthusiasm and maintain a high standard of achievement.

The ideal candidate will be an Art Student who is familiar in the IEB environment and has a proven and successful track record in teaching Visual Art.

Criteria:

The successful candidate will report to the Head of the Department

The candidate must be a final year Visual Art student or a student who completed the degree and interested in furthering a career in Teaching by completing a post-graduate diploma in Teaching for example.

The candidate must be passionate about the subject and eager to gain more skills and knowledge to further the Art department at the school.

The duties will be to:

  • assist the HOD with teaching practical artmaking skills to students from grade 8 to 12.
  • assist with Art exhibitions.
  • teach some of the grade 8 and 9 lessons.
  • fill in for the HOD if she/he is not available.
  • assist with research and art competitions.
  • Assist with Culture week

Date of Commencement: 1 Jan 2023
