Responsibilities:

  • Implementation of HR policies, ensuring professionalism and good work ethic among campus staff members;
  • Plan and coordinate campus staff meetings;
  • Ensure all regulatory licenses pertaining to operations of the campus are maintained;
  • Contribute to the University’s strategic planning with particular responsibility for the campus physical environment and resources;
  • Formulating the Strategic Plan monitoring calendar, communicating to departments, and ensuring adherence to the timelines;
  • Consolidating the Strategic Plan monitoring report and following up on the implementation of the recommendations of the Strategic Plan;
  • Responsible for developing and implementing the campus administration budget;
  • Responsible for campus facilities and commercial services that support the University’s corporate aims.
  • Responsible for effectively managing contracts and partnerships for outsourced facilities.
  • Authorise and control the movement of assets within and outside the University;
  • Inspect all the assets regularly and initiate maintenance processes;
  • Ensure provision of adequate and comfortable furniture, classrooms, labs, meeting spaces and offices forstaff and students;
  • Review reports of daily security activities and act on any irregularities promptly;
  • Oversee authorization of reporting and departure of staff, visitors, and other persons to the University premises;
  • Handle security, health and safety emergencies and engage state agencies where necessary;
  • Ensure the smooth running of accommodation facilities, including the safety and well-being of guests and resident students;
  • Ensure effective management of the University clinic by ensuring customer satisfaction with the services offered;
  • Maintain high hygiene standards of the campus premises at all times;
  • Ensure all approved transport requests are met;
  • Implement all policies relating to Administration and Facilities Management.

Qualification & Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Administration, Operations Management, Human Resource or a related area or a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or a related area from a recognized university;
  • At least five years of relevant experience in either Operations Management, Administration, or Facilities Management;
  • Project management skills;
  • Advanced skills in MS Office;
  • Excellent organizational skills;
  • Ability to go the extra mile, multitask and work under minimal supervision.

Responsibilities:

  • Guide, manage, coach and support career development of the Programs Delivery team members.
  • Lead the operationalization of experiments and innovation for organizational Learning.
  • Support country responsibilities including financial approvals and signatory to the Bank.
  • Partner with the Country Director to shape Living Goods’ Kenya strategy and develop the geographic and operational growth plans for Kenya in line with Living Goods’ mission and values.
  • Oversee the implementation of the growth strategy whilst meeting all our key health impact KPIs aligned to contextual government needs.
  • Strengthen Living Goods Kenya operational excellence processes to build highly efficient and effective teams.
  • Review performance against key indicators and take action to ensure on-going measurable improvements.
  • Work with the Country Director and Chief Finance Officer (CFO) to budget and carefully monitor and control all costs and ensure all internal control procedures are followed.
  • Support the Country Director and the Business Development team in developing relationships with donors and other implementing partners to deepen and expand Living Good’s current funding base and to identify other possible long term funding solutions.
  • Partner with the Government Relations team to develop strong county and sub county government relationships at all levels.
  • Deputises the Country Director in all fronts e.g. represent the organization at key internal and external meetings and events.
  • Work closely with Global & Regional teams to share learnings and continually seek improvements to our processes and ways of working.
  • Partner with the Country Director and Senior Management in building a culture of high performance at Living Goods.
  • Recruit and provide line management, coaching, mentorship and support to the team
  • Development/oversight/approval/review of budgets, expense reports and disbursements
  • Enforces policies to improve the overall compliance environment

Requirements:

Academic Qualifications;

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Public Health or a related field from a recognised university;
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Health or a related field;

Work Experience Required;

  • Over twelve (12) years of relevant experience with over five (5) years at Senior management level.
  • Private sector commercial leadership experience strongly desired
  • Demonstrated experience in leading big teams with highly complex operational completes

  • System generation of Works orders as per production plan, Material issuance and system completion.
  • Plan and avail raw materials for blending.
  • Lead in blending of bulk for packaging at the desired quality, time and cost-effectively.
  • Review and approve blended bulk for packaging.
  • Review and approve material reconciliation for completed Works orders.
  • Review processing equipment logs.
  • Taste and evaluate the final product to ensure the desired quality is achieved.
  • Work with the warehousing department to ensure required inputs are available in good time and the reorder levels adhered to avoid stock-outs.
  • Ensure all raw materials returned to inventory have the right quantity and containers are in good condition in line with the internal policies and procedures.
  • Perform weekly, monthly and quarterly stock takes and order consumables timeously to ensure continuity in winemaking practices.

Requirements:

  • A Diploma in food science and technology
  • Certificate in winemaking is an added advantage
  • At least five (5) years experience in a manufacturing company, three of which must be in a winery department.
  • Practical experience in the use of MS packages and ERP systems.
