Evangelical Seminary Undergraduate Admission & Requirements

Master’s Degrees

Confirm your eligibility.
1. Faith: be a dedicated, born-again believer.
2. Academic: hold a four-year bachelor’s degree or its equivalent from an acceptable college.
3. Complete your online application.
Submit the required documents.
1. Official transcript from all postsecondary institutions previously attended. International students may be required to provide a transcript evaluation from a NACES member agency showing degree and course equivalencies. Send transcripts to [email protected].
2. Submit one ministerial reference and one academic reference.
3. Submit a one to two-page autobiography; include ministerial and vocational goals.
4. Submit a photo. Digital is preferred.
5. Complete an interview, if requested.
Complete your enrollment requirements. Once admitted you will be assigned an advisor who will assist you with registering for classes.

Doctor of Ministry

Confirm your eligibility.
1. Academic: an earned ministry-related master’s degree or an MDiv degree from an accredited graduate school.
2. Grades: a minimum cumulative GPA in accredited graduate study of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
3. Experience: demonstrate significant ministry experience.
4. Vocation: currently involved in full-time or co-vocational ministry (pastor, missionary, teacher, denominational or para-church leader, chaplain, evangelist, counselor, etc.)

1. Official transcript from all postsecondary institutions previously attended.
2. International students may be required to provide a transcript evaluation from a NACES member agency showing degree and course equivalencies.
3. Submit one ministerial, one academic, and one personal reference.
4. Submit a five-page paper outlining your theology of ministry. (The Doctor of Ministry office will supply an instruction page.)
5. Submit a photo. Digital is preferred.
6. Complete an interview, if requested.
Complete your enrollment requirements. Once admitted the Doctor of Ministry team will assist you with next steps.

Doctor of Applied Intercultural Studies

Confirm your eligibility.
1. Academic: an accredited master’s degree from an acceptable school with a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. (Must include 15 graduate credits in Bible and theology and 15 graduate credits in missions and intercultural studies.)
2. Experience: not less than two years of appropriate intercultural ministry experience.
3. Language: second language proficiency. In exceptional cases, this requirement may be substituted by petition.

2. Submit one ministerial, one academic, and one personal reference.
3. Submit a one to two-page autobiography; include ministerial and vocational goals.
4. Submit documentation of official approval from administrative superiors (e.g., missions board or agency).
5. Submit a graduate-level academic writing sample paper.
6. Submit a photo. Digital is preferred.
7. Complete an interview, if requested.

Ph. D. in Intercultural Studies

Confirm your eligibility.
1. Academic: an accredited master’s degree from an acceptable school with a minimum GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale. (Must include 15 graduate credits in Bible and theology and 15 graduate credits in missions and intercultural studies.)
2. Experience: not less than two years of appropriate intercultural ministry experience.
3. Language: second language proficiency. The program requires research proficiency in English as the primary research language of the disciplines of intercultural studies and a second modern language in the field of the research topic. Additional ancient and modern languages may be required as needed for the completion of dissertation research

Ph. D. in Biblical Interpretation and Theology

Confirm your eligibility
1. Academic: an accredited M.Div. or Th./Th.M., M.Phil. or STM with a focus on Biblical and theological studies, with a minimum of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale. Other master’s degrees will be considered if the student can demonstrate an aptitude for advanced study.
2. Language: the program requires the following language proficiencies or prerequisites.
3. Research proficiency in English as the primary research language and a second modern research language (usually German or French). Competency in a modern research language must be demonstrated during the first two years of the program before beginning work on the dissertation. Competency can be demonstrated in one of two ways.
4. Successful completion of a modern language course that facilitates and measures translation skill.
5. Taking and successfully completing a modern language translation exam offered through the AGTS D. Biblical Interpretation and Theology program.
6. One year of Greek
7. One year of Hebrew
8. One additional year in the language of the testament of focus for the program is required and must be completed within the first two years of enrollment in the program.

9. Submit a graduate-level academic writing sample paper. Minimum 1500 word requirement.
