The school has difficult admission requirements for SAT and ACT scores, generally admitting students who score in the top 33 percent (SAT 1140/1320 ACT 23/29). The University of Massachusetts Lowell typically accepts and attracts “B+” average high school students with an average GPA of around 3.66.
- A completed Common Application, UMass Lowell Application or Coalition Application by Scoir.
- An application fee or fee waiver.
- Your score from the Scholastic Aptitude Test* (SAT) or the American College Test (ACT). (Currently UMass Lowell is reviewing only the math and critical reading sections of the SAT.)
- UMass Lowell’s CEEB (College Entrance Examination Board) code number is 3911 our ACT code number is 1854.
- Your official school transcript (grades 9-11).
- A personal essay (250-650 words) responding to a Common Application essay option.
