Location: Western Cape

  • Number of Positions: 06 Interns
  • Contract Duration: Three years (Fixed Term Contract)

Location: ARC Roodeplaat/Irene, Gauteng

  • Number of Positions: 10 Interns
  • Contract Duration: Three years (Fixed Term Contract)

Duties and Responsibilities of Interns:

  • Participate in planning and coordinating field trips.
  • Conduct veld condition assessments in various South African biomes.
  • Data capturing.
  • Assist in technology transfer through reports and presentations.
  • Provide technical input within research projects.
  • Ensure effective resource utilization.
  • Maintain facilities, apparatus, and equipment according to safety policies.

Requirements:

  • A PhD/MSc/BSc/National Diploma in Botany, Plant Ecology, Agriculture, or related fields.
  • Intent to register for an MSc or PhD to work on long-term veld monitoring.
  • Knowledge of maintaining research equipment and infrastructure.
  • Understanding of basic research principles.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
