Nampak Metals is currently recruiting candidates for Fitting & Turning Apprenticeships. Job Title: Fitting & Turning Apprenticeships [x6 posts] About Nampak:

  • Nampak operates from 19 sites in South Africa and 14 sites in the rest of Africa.
  • The company employs over 4,300 people and has made substantial investments in state-of-the-art production facilities.
  • They have a research and development facility in Cape Town, South Africa, which supports product development.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Completing all required theoretical modules for the trade.
  • Participating in on-the-job training and related training programs.
  • Supporting the production process to ensure availability and reliability.
  • Developing problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Adhering to plant rules and regulations.

Qualifications: The ideal candidate should have:

  • A Matric Certificate with at least a 50% pass mark in Maths, Physical Science, and English as a second language.
  • A minimum of NTC3 engineering, with relevant trade theory as a subject.
  • A basic understanding of engineering.
  • Team orientation, systematic and organizational skills.
  • Basic computer literacy.
  • Good interpersonal communication skills, a positive attitude, the ability to use initiative, and be a team player.
  • The ability to work overtime and shifts when required.
