RESPONSIBILITIES:

Business Development

  •  Support the development and submission of proposals to generate business
  •  Author/ Co-author thematic publications to be developed from field experiences
  •  Actively engage in Marketing Activities and participate in Digital Media dialogues (blogs, discussion forums, etc. )

Professional Development

  •  Conduct “Quality of Delivery”/Feedback assessments with team members after assignment execution in line with the quality control guidelines
  •  Assist and support the development of other staff by providing guidance and advice where appropriate
  •  Take ownership of self-development by acquiring skills and knowledge that add value to the organization

Business Execution

  •  Participate in assignment set-up and de-briefing meetings of assignments
  •  Lead small and straightforward assignments under supervision
  •  Execute assignments with the utmost diligence, attention to detail, and focus on quality
  •  Support the process of report writing and data analysis
  •  Develop linkages with the junior staff of the client to gather assignment-related information/data
  •  Assist in the review of training courses delivered, research papers prepared, the curriculum developed, and technical assistance provided to clients
  •  Contribute to the development of MSC’s toolkits and other publications

Requirements

Qualification:

  •  Bachelor or Master’s degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Agricultural Economics, Development studies or related disciplines from an accredited Institution of higher learning.

Desired skills and competencies:

  •  Familiarity with data collection methods and modern data analysis software with robust data qualitative and quantitative analytics skills
  •  Demonstrated experience working with rural and low-income households.
  •  At least two years of experience in conducting field-based research.
  •  Experience in conducting training
  •  Experience in managing research or consultancy projects will be an added advantage
  •  Demonstrated understanding of the development landscape in Africa, including access to finance, Agriculture, youth and gender development, resilience, Digital ecosystems, and the policy contexts
  •  Experience or desire to work in a challenging environment with minimal supervision.
  •  Readiness to travel across Africa and Asia. Over 40% of your time will be spent out of your workstation.
