ZYC Relief Funds Application 2022/2023
Zimbabwe Youth Council (ZYC) invites applications from Zimbabwean registered youths to apply for financial assistance (Relief Funds) in 2021. Interested youths are expected to possess the following;
- Applicant must be a Zimbabwean
- Applicants must be between the ages of 18 and 35
- Applicants must submit a valid proof of business operation before the COVID-19 pandemic in the form of invoices, orders, delivery notes, and bank statements
- Applicants must also show proof that they reside in Zimbabwe
- Applicants must show proof of place of operation using documents like lease agreement, ZESA bill, or Water bill.
NOTE: Application feedback is provided soon after the closing of the batch and all things being equal will not exceed three weeks. Applying for the fund is open until the fund is exhausted. Several batches will be opened from time to time. Currently, the Youth Relief Fund’s upper limit is set at RTGS $5, 000.

UNIL Master’s Grants in Switzerland for Foreign Students

The University of Lausanne in Switzerland offers the UNIL Master’s Grants on a competitive basis to international students who wish to pursue a Masters Degree at the University.

All Master’s programme from among those offered by the UNIL, except the following
- • Master from the School of Medicine
- • Master of Education
- • Master of Law from the Universities of Zurich and Lausanne
- • Master of criminal Law, magistracy specialism
- • Master of Science in Physical Education and Sports Didactics
- • Master of Science in Health sciences
- • All MASs (PhD programmes)
Note: For the Master of Law, only two specializations – “international and comparative law” and “legal theory” are open to applications for Masters scholarships.

Scholarship value/duration:
The scholarship is granted for the minimum statutory period of the programme chosen by the student. It amounts to CHF 1,600 per month from 15 September to 15 July (or 10 months a year) for the complete duration of the masters (one and a half years or two years depending on the chosen masters), with the exception of cases of definitive failure after the first year.
Students offered a scholarship will be exempt from the fixed registration fees for the courses, with the exception of the CHF 80.00 fees to be paid each semester.
Eligibility:
- • To have obtained a foreign university degree considered equivalent to a bachelor at UNIL before the beginning of the masters’ programme at UNIL.
- • To have distinguished yourself during your studies, especially through particularly brilliant academic results.
- • To have a language level of at least B2 (according to the European Language Portfolio global scale) in French or English according to the language in which your chosen masters is taught.
- • Not to have been registered with UNIL in the past.
- • To have paid the CHF 200.00 administration fee (see document, “list of documents to attach to your application”).
Application instructions:
You must not make an application for admission to the masters degree via the Admissions Department (SII). Candidates must send their completed application (refer to the document, “list of documents to attach to your application”), unbound, by post at the university’s address.
The deadline for applications is 1 November to begin a masters degree during the following academic year, in the autumn semester or the spring semester if the programme allows. The postmark will attest to the date sent.

How to Apply for Start Up Energy Transition Award 2020

The international ‘Start-Up Energy Transition’ (SET) initiative invites young and innovative companies around the world to apply for the SET Award 2020. The fourth round of the award for business ideas in the energy transition and climate protection was launched at a kickoff event in Stockholm, Sweden.
The award is an initiative of the German Energy Agency (Dena) in cooperation with the World Energy Council. The event in Stockholm was organized in cooperation with the German-Swedish Chamber of Commerce and the Swedish Energy Agency (Energimyndigheten). In the current round, the award is supported by the partner country Sweden and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy.
Categories of Application:
1. Renewable Energies & Materials,
2. Digital Energy Systems,
3. Energy Efficiency Solutions,
4. Smart Mobility,
5. Special Prize: Quality Access & SDG-7.
In each category, the three most promising applicants will be invited to pitch their ideas at the annual summit of the SET Global Innovation Platform, the SET Tech Festival, in Berlin on 24 March 2020.
Requirement for Participation
Applicants may only apply to one category. All subsequent applications to other categories will be disqualified. This also applies to the Special Prize: Quality Access & SDG-7.
1. The start-up must not have been founded longer than ten years ago. In other words, the date of the foundation cannot exceed 2009.
2. The application, including any attached documents, must be in English.
3. The start-up must be able to present a functioning prototype. In addition, the applicant must be able to present a legal framework, proof of concept or a client, and/or an industrial/corporate/institutional partner.
4. The applicant must fill out the entire form. Partially completed applications will not be accepted.
