Matric Results Combination

Matric results are released after the successful marking and grading of the examinations. Successful candidates are awarded a National Senior Certificate (NSC), and they can proceed to a higher institution.

Those who have not met the admission requirement due to deficiency in any of the core subjects can apply to rewrite matric and then, proceed to get the necessary permission to combine it.

Requirements:

  • A total of five subjects must be passed;
  • Only subjects that have been passed will be utilized for combination purposes.
  • Only one failed subject may be recognized.
  • Only subjects converted from an F to an E will be recognized.
  • Higher-grade subjects converted from a FF or G will only be accepted if needed for the sixth subminimum subject;
  • In the case of converted subjects from higher to standard grades, the certified mark will be used;
  • The six subjects with the highest marks will be used for combinations;
  • In the case where two subjects have the same marks, the following protocol should be followed:
  • Amended senior certificate;
  • National Senior Certificate;
  • Senior certificate; and
  • N3 Languages.
  • In circumstances where mathematics and mathematical literacy have the same mark, mathematics will have a preference;
  • The subminimum requirement of one subject obtained at 20% will apply to all candidates, including those requesting combinations;
  • An aggregate of 800 marks will only apply in the case of a combination of amended senior certificate subjects with previously offered senior certificate subjects and N3 languages.

Documents Required:

  • A certified copy of a previous matric result statement.
  • A certified copy of an identity document (ID).
  • The application combination form is available at the head office and district offices.
