MUST UNESCO Club Emerges the Best Nationally

The Meru University of Science and Technology (MUST) family is proud of the MUST UNESCO Club for attaining the first position in a nationwide UNESCO clubs’ competition. The Kenya National Commission for UNESCO (KNATCOM) awarded the best club prize in the University Category to the MUST UNESCO club.

MUST UNESCO club members also participated in the Greening Africa Together projects (GATo) which paved the way for Technical University – Berlin to offer a partial scholarship to the best student? The scholarship recipient will be part of an international tutor’s team that will mentor other students on the GATo projects as we strive to cultivate and effect lasting solutions to global challenges.

Study at Meru University of Science and Technology for the opportunity to be part of a World-Class University of Excellence. The importance of joining clubs and societies in Universities cannot be overstated. These communities offer the opportunity to develop capacities in diverse fields while working alongside like-minded individuals and building meaningful networks.

MUST UNESCO club members are part of the global UNESCO community in service of UNESCO ideals. We are delighted to celebrate these accolades a few months after our very own MUST student and MUST UNESCO Club President, Elly Oginga Alang’o scooped second position in the UNESCO Clubs 2020 Worldwide Youth Multimedia Contest. Elly is a Fourth-year student pursuing Bachelor of Education Science – Mathematics/Chemistry.

Led by the patron Dr. Eunice Marete, the MUST UNESCO club has continually and successfully shaped the lives of the University and community by establishing an endowment fund for needy students, promoting environmental sustainability and promoting peace and harmony within the society.

The MUST family led by our Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Romanus Odhiambo congratulates MUST UNESCO club members and urges everyone to foster daily sustainable practices to make the world a safer and better place.
