RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists in the Pricing of insurance contracts/schemes and tenders to ensure competitiveness and business profitability
- Assist in conducting investigations and Providing guidance on adequacy of reinsurance arrangements
- Conduct Research and advice on innovations and industry/international best practices for the business to adopt and implement.
- Assist in analyzing the quality of data held in our databases for gaps and recommend remediation measures.
- Assist in product development and preparing business cases for respective products, for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist in granular loss experience analysis and generate management reports on recommended actions.
- Assist in the implementation of IFRS 17 on data requirements and report compilation as directed by the team lead.
- Assist in the Automation of Reserving models using programming software.
- Assist in developing and maintaining effective actuarial reports of business historical performance with suggested management actions and recommendations.
- Support in any ad hoc analysis in the department as directed by team lead.
Requirements
Academic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Actuarial Science, Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science or any other related field.
Job skills and Requirements
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Good programming skills: Oracle BI/Python/R/C++/Power BI
- Good knowledge of regional financial regulatory requirements;
- Strong communication and written skills and proficiency in English;
- Displays high motivation, flexibility, adaptability, initiative, self-drive, and a fast learner.
Experience
- At least 2 years’ experience in actuarial role.
- Good understanding of the insurance industry will be an added advantage
