In 2006 Metropol partnered with GCR to provide credit rating services that enable corporates to raise capital and meet their financing needs. Metropol is also licensed by the Central Bank of Kenya to provide Credit Reference Bureau (CRB) Services to ALL banks in Kenya. Our CRB services leverage full-file credit information sharing and alternative data sources from MFIs, SACCOs, HELB, Utilities, Mobile phone companies and providers of goods and services on credit to help customers improve their access to finance and increase the credit providers’ capacity to lend profitably to more customers. We support Credit providers in managing Credit Risk throughout the credit life cycle in order to increase efficiency and lower risk of default and thus maximize profit. At the same time, we provide the credit consumer with tools that will help negotiate favorable terms when applying and managing their credit. In that way, we provide a Total Customer Solution.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer – The Operations Analyst will support multiple facets of the investment processes including administration and maintenance of funds in the Investment Management System, pricing of funds and portfolio performance evaluation.

PRIMARY Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Accurate and timely pricing of unit trust funds on the investment management system.
  2. Create and verify client performance files.
  3. Timely resolution of trade settlement issue for all portfolios
  4. Maintain portfolio accounting and trading systems and interface with all areas of the firm.
  5. Continuously review the portfolio performance and make recommendations on needed improvements
  6. Perform periodical portfolio evaluations and prepare related reports
  7. Update and monitor the Investment management system for correctness of investment data
  8. Perform timely and accurate electronic reconciliation of systems to custodial records
  9. Prepare monthly and other adhoc portfio reports and provide a business analysis of the same
  10. Resolve trade settlement issues in a timely manner.
  11. Identify workflow/system improvements and work with line manager to enact change.
  12. Deliver on service level agreements and assist in the general oversight and management of client strategies
  13. Contribute to continuous innovation through the development, sharing and implementation of new ideas

Requirements

Qualifications and Experience

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Finance or related field
  2. Professional qualification in ICIFA, CPA/ ACCA
  3. Over 5 years’ experience in Investment operations preferably in Fund management setup
  4. Fund accounting or pricing experience is an added advantage
  5. Good understanding of Fund investment and operations principles and practices in Kenya

Required skills and Competencies

  1. Strong analytical and detailed-oriented aptitude with a high degree of accuracy
  2. Good in relationship building
  3. Excellent communication and organizational skills
