RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Establish protocols for mentors, PhD students, internships, and Thematic Funding Window in collaboration with partner organizations
  • Prepare timelines for all P3-Africa activities
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with key partners through periodic check-ins
  • Work with broader team to design and implement learning events
  • Support all aspects of the Thematic Window selection process and grants management process
  • Support recruitment process for internship program
  • Coordinate all logistics for survey methods and other training courses
  • Source content for periodic project newsletter, organize listserv and dissemination.
  • Provide updated content for P3-Africa website
  • Monitor overall project budget and prepare budgets for individual project activities to ensure that resources are utilized efficiently and effectively
  • Prepare periodic reports for donors and other key partners

Qualifications

Education, Knowledge, and Experience:

  • Minimum of a B.A. in social sciences or related field
  • Zero to two years’ experience in project work
  • Experience or background in education desirable but not required

Skills

  • Excellent organizational skills, including attention to detail, ability to prioritize and multi-task, and ability to work under and adhere to tight deadlines
  • Excellent cross-cultural and interpersonal communication skills
  • Comfortabke working independently and as part of a team; must be a team player and demonstrate a sense of responsibility and sensitivity in dealing with diverse audiences
  • Strong writing and editing skills; Ability to translate complex technical language and ideas into a form easily comprehensible to non-technical audiences
