RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide guidance and interpretation of clinical guidelines, procedures, and legislation relevant to the project.
- Leverage KeHMIS centers of excellence and visit them on a schedule to understand user journeys, document facility work-processes supported by KeHMIS applications and recommend how KeHMIS applications can be optimized to support them
- Support the design, organization, and implementation of solutions touching on clinical aspects of the project
- Collaborate with the technical teams and other partners, supporting the design of suitable strategies, based on sound and current clinical evidence.
- Liaising with external partners within the context of clinical information, evidence, and discussion forums.
- Contribute to the development of expert knowledge on quality improvement in clinical settings within the project.
- Support technical teams in defining clinical project parameters and clinical resource requirements and make these recommendations to the project director and project management team.
- Plan, develop and contribute to the evaluation of the effectiveness of clinical outcomes from the EMR/EHR Implementation.
- Identify complex clinical systems and organizational challenges hindering the accomplishment of project goals and objectives and determining procedures to be followed inn implementing appropriate remedial actions.
- Participate in and advise, when necessary, inductions /orientation programs for new staff and training for existing staff on clinical aspects of the project.
- Provide support to the project leadership director in coordinating project activities, interpreting and communicating clinical and program guidance to project teams.
Required Qualifications
- Clinical Officer with experience in clinical health care especially in HIV service delivery, active licensure preferred.
- Experience providing HIV clinical services in a clinical setting is required.
- Experience working in research/surveillance or study setting preferred.
- Knowledge of and familiarity with international HIV treatment initiatives and Kenya’s HIV treatment guidelines.
- Minimum 1 to 3 years’ experience on infectious diseases and HIV and AIDS management, with at least 3 years’ experience working on health care delivery in a resource challenged setting.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work across-culturally with diverse teams.
- Strong writing skills and attention to detail and quality.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Excellent analytical written and oral communication skills.
- High degree of judgment, maturity, ingenuity, and originality to interpret strategy, to analyze, develop and present work and to monitor and evaluate implementation of programs.
